Amplexd Therapeutics has received authorisation from the Hong Kong Department of Health to begin a Phase 2 trial of an epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg) vaginal suppository for precancerous cervical lesions linked to high-risk HPV, with recruitment underway in Hong Kong.

• Intervention: Investigational EGCg-based vaginal suppository designed for local self-administration in women with ASC-US and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL) linked to high-risk HPV infection.
• Trial site and timeline: Conducted at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in collaboration with Prince of Wales Hospital; recruitment is ongoing, with clinical data expected in Q1 2027.
• Study focus: Evaluation of lesion regression, viral clearance and safety outcomes in participants with hr-HPV-associated disease.
