Takeda and the Indonesian Government have announced a multi-phased collaboration to strengthen the country’s plasma ecosystem and expand access to plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs).

• Regulatory Milestone: Indonesia’s Ministry of Health has granted Takeda a plasma fractionation licence, enabling the company to collect and fractionate plasma as part of the initiative.
• Pilot Programme: Takeda will invest up to US$30 million in a two-year pilot programme to establish plasma donation centres under its BioLife network, with the first centre expected to open in 2027.
• Manufacturing Roadmap: Plasma collected in Indonesia will initially be fractionated through Takeda’s existing global manufacturing network while the company assesses the feasibility of establishing a local PDMP manufacturing facility, with Indonesia’s domestic needs prioritised.
