Singapore Medical Council Disciplinary Tribunal Sanctions Dr Teo Sek Khee

The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Disciplinary Tribunal has issued its grounds of decision concerning Dr Nah Kwang Meng Joshua following a disciplinary inquiry into professional misconduct arising from a criminal conviction.

  • Misconduct: Dr Nah pleaded guilty to one charge under section 59D(1)(b) of the Medical Registration Act 1997 for improper conduct bringing disrepute to the medical profession, following a State Courts conviction for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
  • Penalty: A 4-month suspension from medical practice was imposed, together with a censure and a written undertaking.
  • Additional orders: The Tribunal also ordered Dr Nah to pay the costs and expenses of the proceedings, including the costs of the SMC’s solicitors.
