The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Disciplinary Tribunal has concluded its inquiry into Dr Teo Sek Khee and issued its grounds of decision following findings of professional misconduct relating to clinical management of a patient at Raffles Hospital.

• Misconduct: The Tribunal found Dr Teo guilty of professional misconduct for failing to provide competent and appropriate care, including inadequate investigation and management of suspected gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Orders: A 7-month suspension from practice was imposed, together with a censure, a written undertaking, and an order to pay the costs and expenses of the proceedings.
• Case context: The Tribunal found that multiple clinical warning signs were present, including declining haemoglobin levels, CT findings suggestive of varices, and warfarin therapy, which required urgent investigation and specialist referral.
